We have done a research on goods which are sold by peddlers in trains and their speeches. We travelled by electric trains and collected a lot of information. This information consisted of our notes, photos of peddlers and recordings of the speeches.
In Moscow trains are always very crowded in rush hour as there are a lot of people who live in the suburbs and work in the city center. Exactly that time appear peddlers who sale different goods. The most interesting thing is that they have a lot of customers in spite of the fact that they bother a lot of people by pronouncing their speech loudly. The main feature of this type of selling is that a salesman comes to a potential customer (unlike it usually goes). That`s why peddlers need to interest them and persuade to buy a commodity. Firstly, peddles choose special types of the goods which we classified according to their necessity during the trip. Secondly, salesmen build their speeches and presentation in a special way. The intonation is also unusual because they have to repeat their speech for many times a day. All of this we have studied and we are glad to share our knowledge with others.
